AirBorneo Launches Online Check-In for ATR-Served Routes
28 Apr 2026

KUCHING, 2 March 2026 – AirBorneo, Sarawak’s state-owned full-service airline, has introduced online check-in for all routes operated by its ATR turboprop fleet, further enhancing convenience for passengers across East Malaysia.
The new service allows passengers to check in digitally, select their preferred seats and receive an electronic boarding pass prior to arrival at the airport, reducing wait times and improving overall travel efficiency.
Online check-in is available for all eligible bookings, including individual travellers, families, and group passengers on routes operated by AirBorneo’s ATR 72-500 aircraft. Passengers travelling with checked baggage may proceed directly to the baggage drop counter upon arrival at the airport, significantly streamlining pre-departure processing.
“The introduction of online check-in across our ATR network marks an important step in AirBorneo’s digital journey. While we are committed to modernising our services, we are equally mindful that many of the communities we serve, particularly in rural and remote areas may have limited internet connectivity,” Chief Executive Officer, Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin said.
“This enhancement provides added convenience for those who are able to access it, while we continue to maintain full airport counter services to ensure no passenger is left behind. Our priority remains delivering reliable, inclusive and people-centric connectivity for Sarawak,” he said.
Passengers can access AirBorneo’s online check-in service via the airline’s official website using their booking reference number and surname. Online check-in opens 48 hours before departure and closes 90 minutes prior to take-off.
For flights operated by the DHC-6-400 Twin Otter aircraft, check-in will continue to be conducted at the airport counter to ensure operational readiness and passenger assistance at remote airstrips.
